Arrival Instructions

Arrival Time: Please make every effort to arrive at the barracks in BDU's no later than 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 10. You may arrive as early as 12:00 PM, but not earlier. Also please ensure you have already eaten lunch and arrive with a full canteen or Camelback. Cadets, please ask your parents to stay until your check-in is complete, which takes about 1/2 hour. The encampment will begin promptly at 2:30 PM, so please do not be late. We will have signs and personnel posted to let you know exactly where to report to and park.

Directions to the barracks: Take Route 2 to Exit 37 (Jackson Road.)  Follow Jackson Road straight into the Devens business area.  (The map on Mapquest shows Jackson turning into MacArthur Avenue).  When you get to the end of Jackson, you’ll bear right onto MacArthur Avenue.  Just before the mini-mark/gas station, take the right that leads to the Fort Devens main gate (it goes behind the mini-mart and gas station.)  Despite what Mapquest shows, this is the only gate that’s open.

Main Post Map

Access at the gate:  Because Fort Devens is a federal military installation, they restrict gate access.  There’s a DOD police officer, or Military Police Officer on duty 24/7.  Parents dropping off their cadets, or coming to graduation (or picking up their cadets) should be permitted access as long as they have a photo ID.  If there are any changes, we will post instructions here.

Additional Instructions for Cadets:  If you bring a cell phone, leave it in your vehicle or check it in with the Security Officer. Any cadet bringing a privately-owned vehicle (POV) will be required to secure the vehicle and turn the keys in to the Security Officer. Your keys will be returned at the end of the week.
